What has been your favorite thing about attending Tribeca Flashpoint College so far?

I love that we are hands-on and that we touch on so many subjects. So far, I have worked on films, video games, voice overs, sound design, and studio recording, and I cannot wait to see what else is awaiting.

Johnathan Murphy

VFX & Animation

Career Services selected Johnathan as one of this months Student Highlights because of his go-getter attitude and drive. A few days after starting at Tribeca Flashpoint, Johnathan reached out to Career Services, to express an interest in some companies he’d like to work with one day. As a result, Johnathan will be shadowing at Giannini Creative. Go Johnathan!

What’s your advice for incoming students?

I would say get in touch with Career services ASAP. You need to get your resume fixed or learn how to create one. The next thing is to collaborate; there are students that have been here either for summer break or a year before you have. Pick their brains [and] see what you can learn from them everyone is pretty friendly here.

Flo Music is a social music player that uses wi-fi to connect nearby friends so that they can create collaborative playback/playlists. Flo Music’s free app syncs up nearby phones and creates a social playlist, or “Flo,” that anyone can add songs to. Music is typically better when it's not just one person playing it. Check out this short animation to see how it’s used.

The Contest

Film schools all across the United States have been invited to take part in this competition. Students will be required to create a video (up to 2 minutes in length) that visually demonstrates the features and benefits of the Flo Music app.
