FULL SPECTRUM FEATURES NFP is a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to increasing diversity in the media arts by producing, exhibiting, and supporting the work of women, LGBTQ, and minority filmmakers. We also aim to educate the public about important social and cultural issues, utilizing the power of cinema to foster understanding in our communities.
Producing Internship: Producing interns will have the opportunity to learn about above-the-line indie film producing and non-profit administration. They will gain hands-on experience in our thriving office, working closely with the Full Spectrum staff to support the development, production, and distribution of vital independent media. Our interns are a crucial part of our organization, and are empowered to work in a self-directed manner. Specific work assignments will be catered towards the intern's interests and skills when possible. The internship will also include an educational component focused on professional development.Producing interns will have the opportunity to learn the following skills, relevant for jobs in independent film producing, production management, and arts administration:
Production planning and scheduling
Hiring crew and negotiations
Independent filmmaking contracts and legal matters
Exhibition and distribution
Research and development
Communicating with press/media
Applicants should have a strong interest in the business and administration of independent filmmaking and/or nonprofit management and arts administration. The ideal candidate will be organized, prompt, professional, eager to learn, and have strong writing and communication skills.
Graphic Design Internship: We are hiring an intern to assist our in-house designer and producers. This person will work on graphic design for digital and print projects, and special visual communications projects. Other work may include motion graphics to create dynamic slideshows for events, editing short-form videos for promotion, web design, or assisting the deliverables of our screeners to theaters and venues. The graphic design intern will work amongst the producing interns in a collaborative, nonprofit, start-up environment. requirements: Knowledge of Adobe Suite programs, especially InDesign
Justin Jackola, the founder and director of JJack Productions, first realized his passion for filmmaking while creating films in place of poster boards during grade school. His creative storytelling abilities led him to study film at Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Flashpoint Academy. After graduation, he was invited to create content at Leo Burnett advertising agency where he worked on clients such as McDonald’s, Coke, and Maytag/Whirlpool. Justin left Leo Burnett to embark on a new journey in Film, Television, Documentary, and Commercial production.
In January 2012 he began his own venture by founding JJack Productions. Since the start of JJack Productions, Justin has used his unique creative approach and teaching abilities to help multiple companies succeed their visual imagery.

The Chicago Underground Film Festival, presented by IFP Chicago, is dedicated to the work of film and video makers with defiantly independent visions.
The Chicago Underground Film Festival is an annual event showcasing independent, experimental and documentary films from around the world. Widely recognized as a world-class event, the festival showcases the best in new American and international cinema and providing the movie-loving public with access to some of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers and emerging talent from around the world. Our mission is to promote films and videos that dissent radically in form, technique, or content from the “indie” mainstream and to present adventurous works that challenge and transcend commercial and audience expectations. 25 programs comprised of narrative, documentary and experimental features, shorts, and music videos, representing more than 20 countries, make up the main body of the festival, along with nightly parties and live music, discussions and other networking and community building events.
