Barkley is the largest employee-owned advertising agency in the U.S. Ownership has its advantages. It allows us to attract national talent, retain that talent and increase every partner’s passion because they have a financial stake in client and agency success. Our independent structure means we can invest in our clients, talent and resources in ways others can't.

Culture:
Barkley is brimming with personality, including a chatty employee back channel on Twitter and Boulevard beer on tap (hey, it’s advertising). Our location has personality, too. Located in the former headquarters of TWA in the Crossroads Arts District, its got a three-story-tall rocket ship on the roof originally placed there by Howard Hughes. We have an extensive art collection, a rooftop deck and garden and our very own theater. Barkley is proud of its steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility, and we guide many of our clients with their commitment as well.

Barkley exists to help make our clients’ brands irreplaceable. There are some things people can't live without; whether it's their favorite restaurant, magazine, car or ice cream. Barkley ensures our clients’ brands are on that list.

DDB Chicago

Where We Come From
In 1949, three enterprising gentlemen, Bill Bernbach, Ned Doyle and
Maxwell Dane gave the advertising industry a wake-up call. They introduced a new approach to marketing that relied on insight into human nature, respect for the consumer, and the power of creativity. In short, they said: Let's stop talking at people and let's start conversations that lead to action.

This heritage is a unique strength that continually tells us who we are, what we believe and how we should behave. It inspires us to continually challenge standard convention. From Bill Bernbach to Keith Reinhard to the present generation of DDB leaders, we are continuing the revolution.

We are Hint and we build stories worth sharing.

The world is full of ordinary stories. But hidden inside every ordinary story is something extraordinary, the essence that gives a story it’s heart. At Hint, we believe true creativity is finding that core, pulling it out, and telling that story. It’s not easy but it’s completely worthwhile because those are the stories that no one saw coming. That’s how you build stories worth sharing.

To find a story’s heart, we first work to uncover who the story is meant to move, what motivates them to think or act, what fears they have, and what dreams they chase. Then we take that human insight and use it to inform a creative process that breathes life into the story and expands on the heart, designing imaginative content and immersive experiences.

Here’s what we do:

Content Creation
Video as a narrative tool. We start our story-building with insight into human behavior, use that insight to inform our creative process, then tap 25 years of video production and motion design experience to distinctly craft each story on time, in scope, and on budget.

Digital Development
Web and App design and development. In this space, we craft story as user experience, both in how we use digital environments today as well as how we’ll use them tomorrow.

Experience Design
Story in a physical space. As humans, we seek experiences because they are immersive and/or interactive. At Hint, we design experiences that bring stories out to meet audiences in unexpected places.

Original Programming & Branded Entertainment
Long-form video narratives. As the on-demand TV culture proliferates and people thirst for more authentic entertainment, we collaborate to build emotionally connective stories through your brand or product character as well as reality TV and docu-series programming.

If there’s one thing we all know for sure in Reality Television—it’s that if you don’t have a great cast—you don’t have a show. Period.

No matter what great concept, idea or vision you want to sell—without a great cast—you’ve got nothing.

Casting is the key ingredient to successfully selling programing. Often times, if you have great people to start with, the show can create itself. Bold, dynamic, charismatic, and just plain fascinating people, sadly, don’t usually come knocking on your production door. But lucky for you—we go knocking on theirs.

Let Reality Road’s experienced, qualified and proven successful casting team find you the best people for your projects. We love this stuff—and we’re really good at it

Matt Antrim and Teri Rogers are the principles and founders of Reality Road, LLC, a newly formed reality focused production company. Together, they bring over 30 years of experience and have formed an all-inclusive powerhouse for reality based television that includes talent, casting, and show concept development, along with production, editorial and design expertise.

Reality Road’s unique approach to success is a master blend of outstanding, creative casting—and experienced, quality production.

Local 2 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States and Canada, or IATSE (IA for short) is the union that represents stagehands, technicians, and theatrical craft professionals that serve Chicago’s entertainment industry.

Originally founded as Local 2 of the Theatrical Protective Union of Chicago, the Local was chartered on March 3rd 1887. Like many other workers of that era, the newly-organized stagehands sought economic stability, an eight-hour day, and protection from job-related hazards. After the panic of 1873, the United States went through a painful economic reset in which it was transformed from an agricultural-based economy into one of mass industrialization. Theatre was no exception, and like many other industries of that time, backstage became increasingly dangerous with mechanization and new technologies such as electricity.

Veteran television producer Theresa McKeown moved to Los Angeles in the 1980’s with a BA in telecommunications and film from San Diego State University, determined to take the city by storm.  By anyone’s accounting, she landed on her feet, first working for Norman Lear, and then George Carlin and his wife, Brenda.  She eventually made the leap from working with successful people to being successful herself.

In short order Theresa got a job working on "Inside Edition," quickly becoming its LA Director of Operations.  After nine seasons of  “Inside Edition, she then moved on to "American Journal,” producing live shots across the country. The following year she decided it was time to branch out on her own, so Theresa formed her own production

company, Dalaklis McKeown Entertainment. During the next ten years she executive produced hundreds of hours of television for such wide-ranging clients as CBS, Lifetime, USA Network, VH1, MTV, Fine Living, E Entertainment, Fine Living, The Travel Channel, TLC, TNT and Style Network as well as a host of corporate clients.

In her role as producer, Theresa has traveled world-wide, with her mettle being tested in high pressure situations as diverse as shooting shows at the White House, NORAD, the Pentagon, FBI headquarters, maximum security prisons and from the top of the World Trade Center. Along the way she "tail-hooked" onto an aircraft carrier in the Pacific,

yachted through South America with jet setters and chased bad guys with the LAPD in a helicopter. She survived both OJ Simpson trials, shot live from heart of the LA Riots and drove through a wall of flames during the Laguna fires.

In other words, there isn’t much that she hasn’t seen or done in the television industry.  Theresa is currently developing reality shows and documentaries, while consulting on various production and Internet projects, with an emphasis on branded entertainment.

Engaging, Always.

Everyone’s talking about it. A new era in marketing. The Engagement Era. It’s a time when people are engaging with each other and the brands and issues they care about in entirely new ways. Today, people are taking control from the brands and organizations that used to do most of the talking and shaping their own stories.

At Weber Shandwick, we understand this new era because engaging people in conversations that matter to them is what we’ve always done. Winning today requires storytelling that’s relevant, personal and genuine. It means understanding the new power that trusted advocates wield. And, more than anything, winning demands content that’s provocative, original and irresistible.

We are a creative studio of writers, designers, builders, strategists, conversation-starters, storytellers. We are passionate about our clients and, through our Specialty Firms and dedicated Practice Groups, we are deeply knowledgeable about their businesses. And while we are a big, global organization, we believe that collaboration is the best way to succeed.
