What is the difference between Career Services Week and Career Fair?

Career Services Week is a week-long series of workshops, presentations and panels, presented by guest employers from various industries. Career Services Week is from Saturday, April 2nd - Thursday, April 7th and it's open to all current students and alumni. The key event during Career Services Week, is the Career Fair on Friday, April 8th. The Career Fair is a traditional job fair, where guest employers from various industries will have an assigned table where they will meet and chat strictly with students graduating in 2016 for consideration towards potential employment opportunities. Both Career Services Week and the Career Fair will be held on campus. 


When, where and what time is Career Services Week?
The 2016 Career Services Week will begin on Saturday, April 2nd with ALUMNI DAY from 11:30am - 2:00pm on Campus. Career Services Week will continue from Monday, April 4th to Thursday, April 7th, consisting of two presentations on each day from various employers on various topics. These presentations will be from 12:00 - 1:00pm and 1:00 - 2:00pm . All presentations will be held on Campus. Once employers have been confirmed, a formal schedule will be available on this website and sent out via email.


When, where and what time is the Career Fair?
The 2016 Career Fair will take place on Friday, April 8th from 12:00 - 3:00pm and will be held on campus at 28 N. Clark Street in the 5th & 6th floor lobby areas

Who can attend the Career Fair?
The 2016 Career Fair is open strictly for students graduating in 2016! 

Can I attend the Career Fair without a résumé?
Absolutely not. You must have your résumé approved by Career Services in order to attend. 


How do I get my résumé approved by Career Services?

E-mail your current résumé to Once your résumé is approved, you must provide Career Services with both a PDF and Word Doc. version of your résumé. Each copy must be saved under the following title: "Lastname.Firstname_2016." 

What do I need to bring with me?
In order to attend the Career Fair you must bring at least 50 copies of your Career Services approved résumé, business cards, as well as a portfolio/website, reel or examples of your work.


What should I wear?

We suggest business casual attire. This generally means clothing that is less formal than traditional business wear, but is still intended to give a professional and businesslike impression. Please avoid clothes with holes, stains, wrinkles or offensive language and/or images. Remember, you can't offend anyone by dressing nicely!
